How To Pack Right For Business Travel

May 9, 2016

Packing for business travel is a little bit different than packing for a vacation. You have to plan things out a little more meticulously, and you have to be ready to get in and out of terminals with a little more speed than usual. If this is your first time going on a business trip, here’s how to pack right for business travel.

  1. Remember to wear shoes that are easy to get on and off. When you are traveling for business, you don’t have time to be tying and untying shoelaces every time you need to walk through security. That’s why you want to be sure that any time you go through the airport, you’re wearing shoes that can easily slip on and off, and so that you can get a move on.
  1. Buy a suitcase with a roller board. In addition to helping you travel faster, a suitcase with a roller board is much better for your spine. When you have to drag or carry a suitcase, you are putting a lot of strain on your spine and your shoulders. This can become very cumbersome after a while and it can alter your posture. And when you’re traveling for business, you want to look and feel energetic and strong, not tired and weak.
  1. Plan out all of your outfits ahead of time. If you really want to pack light, then you have to make sure that you’re not bringing too much, but you also want to make sure you have everything you need and didn’t forget anything at home. That’s why you want to take the time to plan out all of your outfits ahead of time. You should already have a clear itinerary laid out for yourself, and you can use that to decide what you’re going to wear each day.
  1. Fold all of your clothes very nicely. When you’re traveling for business, you need to look professional and put together wherever you go. That’s why it’s important that your clothes don’t look wrinkled. You want to be sure to fold them nicely, and then hang them up in the closet right away when you get to your hotel. If you find a hotel in Savannah GA you know there will be air conditioning, but the humidity will take its toll on your clothes if you don’t keep them hanging.
  1. Make sure all of your liquids are together in a bag that is easy to get to. Just like you want to be able to get your shoes on and off quickly at the security point, you want to be able to get your luggage in and out very quickly as well. That’s why it’s so important that you don’t have to dig around for all of the various bottles of liquids that might be in your luggage. Keep them all together in a bag and zip them up in one of the side pockets of your suitcase. This way you can spend less time holding up the line, and more time relaxing at the gate.
