Quite great music pr feel they have really discovered a true pop songstress in linah ,demonstrating her songwriting and production skills with her exhilarating debut single ‘This Is What You Get’.
When the QUITE GREAT MUSIC PR team met her one of the key things that jumped out was that she had taught herself the art of mastering her own tracks in the studio as well as performing and writing them, Linah is a quirky young woman who impresses her audience with an extraordinary amount of energy and talent. She supported American R&B artist Anthony Hamilton at the O2 in London in 2012and is now ready to roll on to foster her own musical career.
‘This Is What You Get’ is a catchy pop song that the singer wrote about how relationships with boyfriends, family or friends can turn out to be difficult sometimes and the lyrics derived from there. “I started to think of all the times I’ve been in a relationship with someone who didn’t treat me the way I’d liked to have been treated”, she explains.

One of the key things we do at QUITE GREAT MUSIC PR is discuss at length with our artists their lifie stories and we discovered quickly that with Linah she hasn’t always been as outgoing as she is now. As a child, she suffered from speech impediment and severe anxiety which gave her a hard time at school. The singer mostly kept to herself and was only ever really comfortable around animals. “I got picked on throughout my school years and had no friends for a good few years”, she says. The hardship of not fitting in eventually propelled her to start making music. Linah remembers: “I started to teach myself how to sing at eight years of age by mimicking all these fabulous singers I heard on the radio. I really found solitude and home in music as I didn’t fit in anywhere and I sure didn’t want to!” Her talent and artistic characteristics have always been visible. At school she was once voted “Most Likely To Make It As A Singer”.
Like for so many young girls at the time, her first real musical inspiration and the reason she wanted to become a singer were the Spice Girls. However, it wasn’t until she discovered the king of pop, Michael Jackson, that her whole world would turn upside down and she’d give herself completely into working on a musical career for herself. “He hypnotised me! To me, he was a god of music. It seemed as though he was channelling the very source of sound and performing it to everyone of us in a language we could all understand!”
She drew a lot of inspiration from artists like James Brown or Diana Ross. But she has always been open to discovering new genres and remembers being a lot into bands like Rage Against The Machine at one point during her adolescence.
However, her love for catchy pop tunes has eventually taken over in the creation of her own songs so the QUITE GREAT MUSIC MARKETING guys in the UK really hope you check her out .
