Travel Essentials: 4 Things Every Traveler Needs In Their Carry-On

March 28, 2017

With more and more people enjoying the wonders of traveling these days, it is important to consider how to pack in order to make the journey more comfortable. There will be some confined spaces to consider, and having the conveniences of home nearby can make the trip all the more enjoyable. With that in mind, consider the following four things that every traveler need in their carry on as you begin to plan your next trip.

A Reusable Water Bottle

You might remember those days when you could pack your own water and freely pass through security with it. Those days are long gone, however, thanks to enhanced security measures. Many people lament this development because of the high price of water charged by most airport kiosks these days. You do not need to dehydrate yourself, however, just to save money. Instead, bring a reusable water bottle and find a place to fill it ups with free, filtered water once you have passed through those security checkpoints.

Your Valuables

While you might want to pack as light as possible in your carry on, particularly if you are on a long journey, you want to make sure that you keep your valuables with you. Get a carry on that has some extra pockets where you can safely store items you will need on your trip. This includes your digital camera, jewelry, passport, and other important items that you simply cannot live without on a trip.

An International Data Plan

If you are traveling abroad you will want to invest in an international data plan. In addition, make sure you have an unlimited international calling plan on top of the data plan. This will allow you to stay well connected to your family and friends at home without having to worry about returning home to quite a shock when you get your bill. It is important to have the package added to your plan before you leave in order to avoid this dramatically high roaming fees that most mobile phone companies charge today.

Extra Change of Clothes

Delays do happen. Beyond that, your checked baggage might not find its way to you when you expect it to. Instead of being stuck with the clothes on your back, consider packing a change of clothes or two in your carry on. This will benefit in the long run, particularly if you are on a long trip and are delayed for some reason.

These are four things that you should pack in your carry on to make your next trip all the more enjoyable. Remember to enjoy the process of traveling. Be prepared and the journey will be much smoother.
