The first thing you want to do to see if you have bed bugs is to first inspect your beds and furniture. First check under the sheets of your bed, see if there are brown bugs or even blood markers on your mattress. Then you want to check the outside edges of your bed, the edge is where they hid during the day. If you can’t find anything there, take the mattress off and check the box spring thoroughly. Pay attention to the corners of the bed and don’t forget to check the plastic covers on the corners of the box spring as well. Sometimes they can’t be seen on visual inspection of the bed or furniture.

The next step you can take is to install a monitor or interception device by the infected area. These kinds of devices can be placed under the legs of the bed or furniture. These devices will trap the bed bugs and should be used for 2-4 weeks and you should check them at least a few times a week to see if there is any activity. This is one of the best ways that you can detect if you have a bed bug problem.

The last way that you can detect if you have a bed bug problem is to place an encasement on your mattress and box spring. And keep in mind, they will probably have to come back at least a few times to totally rid you of bed bugs. And they will monitor the activity of the bugs and keep coming back until they are all gone. It is best if you catch them early because then it will take less to get rid of them.
